Ladies Loe

The Heartbeat of Folk Cello

Erin Esses and Clea Johnson, the cellists behind Ladies Loe, weave the rich tapestries of Irish, Scottish, and Scandinavian folk music into the fabric of their community. Meeting at the Valley of the Moon fiddle camp in 2014 and solidifying their duo in Bellingham in 2018, their journey is one of musical exploration and community connection.

Renowned for their enchanting performances and dedication to folk traditions, Ladies Loe doesn’t just play music; they foster inclusive spaces where musicians of all levels can explore and grow. Their monthly Low Down workshops, started in 2019, are a testament to their passion for teaching and sharing the joy of folk music.

Join Erin and Clea as they continue to share their love for the cello's unique voice in the folk world, inviting all to experience the communal spirit of music that resonates deep within us all.
